Tasting Notes: The Curveux Pouilly-Fuisse is a lovely white Burgundy that is versatile and approachable. A pale gold with a green hue in color, the wine displays an aromatic bouquet of green apples, pears, white peaches, Joshua, and lilies. It is medium-bodied with a nice, rich mouthfeel that is round and creamy without being opulent. The bright acidity at the finish keeps it nice and refreshing.
The Domain: Handed down from father to son for four générations. Domaine CURVEUX is a small , family-owned vineyard in Fuissé, right in the heart of the Pouilly - Fuissé appellation.
Currently, the business is run by Joël Curveux and his son Guillaume.
Located in southern Burgundy, our vineyards comprise 8 hectares of vines spanning the three villages of Fuissé, Solutré, and Chaintré (1.20 ha of Macon-Fuissé, 0.50 ha of Macon-Chaintré and 6.20 ha of Pouilly - Fuissé.
We make our wines exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, harvested from vines aged between 6 to 70 years. These vines grow in clay and limestone soil, which gives our wines a subtle minerality.
To produce wines of the highest quality and achieve a unique flavor, each and every vine is carefully managed throughout the year, and the resulting harvest is aged in a combination of steel and oak barrels for 10-12 months before the final blend is assembled and bottled with care.
Domaine Curveux produces wines from three appellations: Macon-Fuissé, Macon-Chaintré, and Pouilly-Fuissé.
